5 Spiritual Practices for Your Best Body
Spiritual practices aren’t something you hear about alot when it comes to creating harmony and peace in your body even though we have become a world that is so clued up on health and wellbeing. When it comes to our bodies, we must take care and be mindful what we are feeding it, mentally, physically and spiritually. True confidence, happiness and a healthy body physically and mentally really does start from the inside, when you learn to master that then you’re certainly on your way to your best body yet!!
Here are 5 Spiritual Practices to manifest your best body yet.
Yes you read that correctly, walking can be incredible spiritual, pilgrims have flocked for thousands of years on spiritual quests for enlightenment. However you don’t need to go and climb Kilimanjaro to find enlightenment. A local walk at sunrise is the perfect time to get centered, in touch with your higher self, your body and your mind; it’s also great for your cardio vascular system and warding of cellulite!! That’s 3 in one!!
Ok now you’re probably thinking… singing? What’s that got to do with my body? Well you may be surprised to know that singing and chanting have profound healing and spiritual effects on the body. The sound vibrations from chanting and singing help to shift and clear both your physical and emotional body, helping you to achieve high vibrations,aka increased energy, increased mood, better posture, more calm in the mind and body. You can start with a simple OM, breath in for the count of four, release for the count of 6-8. I would recommend 3-5 minutes of this to really see your energy and motivation lift.
I couldn’t go through all 5 practices without mentioning crystals. Now if your anything like me, then you may be thinking hold on, isn’t that a bit woo- woo? Maybe you’re even a bit sceptical? Its ok I get it, I was too! Until a good friend talked me through them, I started using them last year and absolutely loved them. You can go into any shop and they have crystals for every body ailment. I went in with an open mind, and by rule of thumb you pick up what you’re most drawn to and go with that. I have found that since using them my energy around my body story completely shifted, I particularly love rose quartz which is the stone of self-love and nurturing, something many women struggle with when it comes to their body.
Of course meditation is one of the best spiritual practices for healing and nurturing your best body and mind. The benefits of meditation are endless–calmer mind, healthier body, less stress which in turn lowers the hormone cortisol which is directly linked to belly fat. If your struggling in that area, take 10, breathe into the belly and calm down.
As a yoga teacher I couldn’t think of a better practice to help manifest your best body yet, again the benefits of yoga are just endless. We obviously can’t just sit and think about wanting to improve our body, we have to take action in all the correct areas, and one of those areas has to include some form of physical movement. While there are plenty of ways to move, I am talking about spiritual practices for the body and yoga is simply that. I have seen so many women transform their bodies and minds through yoga alone. It’s just a beautiful discipline that helps you ultimately connect to your higher self.
